CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY
At Silverdale Solicitors, the idea of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is nothing new. We believe that we have a responsibility to our clients and the places where we have a presence, which is why we support a number of local projects.
Our CSR initiatives cover 3 main areas
1. Community Involvement
We have sponsored and supported a number of local, national, and international causes including the local primary school, local and nationally run youth projects, mentoring to aspiring solicitors as well as leadership talks to inspire children. We have also supported the local cricket club for a number of years and the national cancer charity The Christies.
Our staff are encouraged to regularly participate in community events and sponsorship events and as such often participate in the Manchester 10k run and other regional runs too.
For our international charitable work, our staff have climbed mountains such as Ben Nevis, Snowdon, Scafell Pike, Everest Base Camp and Kilimanjaro for projects such as water pumps in Africa. Further, we also work with local schools to offer work placements to children looking for a career in law.
2. Environmental Initiatives
We believe it is our responsibility to do our bit for the environment. Therefore, we encourage all our staff to care for the environment and to reduce the carbon footprint they leave behind. We encourage staff to minimise waste and recycle where possible, creating virtual files, improved use of tele/video conferencing. We are also committed to using suppliers that share our concerns.
3. Pro Bono Work
Our staff undertake a wide range of pro bono (free legal advice) work as part of their commitment to the wider community. Our pro bono work pervades the various disciplines we specialise in. Through this effort, we can improve access to justice for all members of our community.
